Pinckney Elementary

“Dedicated to providing a safe environment that promotes lifelong learning and enables students to become productive citizens.”

Pinckney Elementary School bears the name of Charles Coatesworth Pinckney, a Revolutionary War hero who helped write the U.S. Constitution and was a two-time Federalist Party presidential candidate from South Carolina. Pinckney’s original eight-room building was erected in 1872 at a cost of $6,000. Located on 2.7 acres of land in Old West Lawrence, the present building , constructed in 1931, remains one of the earliest school sites in Lawrence. Pinckney serves 264 students in grades K-6. Beginning in Fall 2007, the school offers a full-day kindergarten program.
